  1. Dream House (2011)

Soon after moving into their seemingly idyllic new home, a family learns of a brutal crime committed against former residents of the dwelling.

From horror to psychological crime thriller… Haven’t seen one of these in a while…

BAM! Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts - No complaints here. Each brings somethin’ to the table. Brought to us by dramatic director Jim Sheridan.

It started off good, bright and clean… Dad starts to investigate, and then the darkness begins. Slowly deteriorating while he discovers the harsh truth about what really happened. So far so good…

Then the doctors come in “AH! that explains it.”- it’s like a lot of other psych-crime mysteries. Some dramatic banter between character lead to a questionable finale, that seemed rushed and unorganized. A parachute perhaps?

TRIVIA: Director Jim Sheridan fought with Morgan Creek’s head Jim Robinson continuously on the set over the shape of the script and the production of the movie. After Sheridan re-shot some scenes because they did not go down well with test audiences, Morgan Creek took away the film from Sheridan’s hands to re-cut it themselves. As a result, they created the trailer which many felt gave away too many of the movie’s secrets. As a result, Sheridan, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz refused to promote the film to the press.

And there you go… Cast, script and director WASTED by meddling producers.

It’s sad seeing a film (with potential) stumble and trip down a spiral staircase, on it’s way to the end…
