A Movie A Day Keeps The Zombies Away

Gokudô kyôfu dai-gekijô: Gozu(2003) aka Gozu

Minami, a member of the Azamawari crew, highly respects Ozaki who has saved his life in the past. Chairman Azamawari is unsympathetic to Ozaki’s little outbursts and secretly orders Minami to take Ozaki to a disposal facility in the city of Nagoya. There, the fate of these two follows a twisted path filled with violence, mother’s milk, strange locals, and ultimately the disappearance of Ozaki’s corpse which Minami now desperately tries to recover.

Another bizarre Yakuza horror, that guarantees to tickle your sick desires. Thrown to us by one of Asian cinemas/J-horror’s provocative master of disgust, my hero, Takashi Miike.

There is something terribly wrong with this man… And i like it! He’s the Asian David Lynch and David Cronenberg. Cerebral, visceral, ambiguous, perverse, violent and sometimes unexplained.

Comedy and horror have never been woven together so well. A step by step adventure that moves at a steady pace and introduces viewers to the odd characters of this world. There are some “what the fuck just happened?!?” scenes and a twisted ending only the sick-in-the-head can get.

We are treated to extreme violence, sexual taboos and the un/usual Miike stuff:

Gokudô kyôfu dai-gekijô: Gozu directly translates to Grand Theater of Perversion and Fear: Cow’s Head - i think that says it all. This is the/his most bizarre (hard to understand) movie. It’s fuckin’ sick = I love it!
