Director/Writer James Gunn, infamous for the PG Porn (2008) series, gives us a (low budget) “real superhero” dark comedy like: Kick-Ass (2010) and Defendor (2009), a story about normal people being super/heroes. The violence and absurdity was well done, in this realistic fantasy. There was dry humor and hilarious shocks that would follow. “what the hell?” awesome! A see saw of emotions and pacing. Let’s start with… Eggs and Kevin Bacon!?!? It begins with greatness! “poor guy” Rainn Wilson, is our mild mannered husband, who looses his mind when his wife (crack whore Liv Tyler) leaves him for a much more successful man/drug dealer. The most unlikely hero, performing at a stunning level. My testicles have blown up… sexually deprives sidekick, Ellen Page can “boink” me in her little costume any day! This is the sexiest and hottest she’s ever been… a performance guaranteed to make geeks froth in the mouth, like wild baboons. Raw, dorky and gritty, when compared to Hollywood movies of this kind. Nice touches with the kiddie style effects. This film is refreshing and has a personality of it’s own.
