  1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) aka Män som hatar kvinnor (Men Who Hate Women)

A journalist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing — or dead — for forty years by a young female hacker.

A sexually driven Swedish murder mystery, based on the bestselling novel by Stieg Larsson. The Swedish invasion is getting stronger by the day. This was a great find! I haven’t enjoyed this type of a film in ages. Wonderfully done and executed with some gritty scenes.

Noomi Rapace, will definitely be on my radar, after an amazing lead performance as Lisbeth. This girl was sexy, cool, cold, calculating and talented. I was enamored by her screen presence, something about this girl just grabs you.

The story is a not so typical “girl missing” type of mystery. Shrouded by a grim secret involving “hate” and abuse, this film takes a deep look into a family’s skeleton cabinet. Disturbingly satisfying with help from some crucial scenes which involve violence.

The movie runs for about 2 hours, man i wonder how thick the book was. I have not read the book, therefore i cannot judge/compare it from the written literature. But from a movie viewers point of view, this is a must see. Especially for fans of murder mysteries, who also enjoy segments of shocking revelations and scandalous intentions.

This is part 1 of 3, Millennium series. So remember to get these titles as well: The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009) & The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest (2009).
