The Big Year (2011)
Three avid bird watchers compete to spot the rarest birds in North America at a prestigious annual event.
A movie about birdwatchers - HAHAHAHAHA! who comes up with this shit?
Inspired by the Mark Obmascik book.
Comedy greats Jack Black, Steve Martin and Owen Wilson battle it out to see who can spot the most number of birds. How interesting…
What’s there to say about something that pretty straight to the point? A geriatric following his dreams, a young sissy reaching for the stars and another douche who sacrifices love for the ultimate prize.
A not-so-funny comedy. This had potential… comedy giants playing it safe.
I would say, this is a film for grandpa!

A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas (2011)
Six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree.
The dynamic pot duo is back!!! Kal Penn and John Cho bring the holiday cheers with the sexual madman Neil Patrick Harris. NPH!
A holiday treat for fans of Harold & Kumar! Perverted pot smoking and ridiculous plot twists are no surprises to us. I pity the fools who don’t know who they are!
Nice drops with the “White House” and “Sulu” jokes. These two have come a VERY long way since their first outing.
Fuckin’ Wafflebot. I’m torn between liking and hating it.
It’s a celebration of stupidity… and i like it! Didn’t quite like the (obvious) 3D bits. This was my least favorite H&K movie. Maybe it’s because i didn’t see it during Christmas.
You shot Santa!

What’s Your Number (2011)
A woman looks back at the past twenty men she’s had relationships with in her life and wonders if one of them might be her one true love.
A romantic comedy based on the novel “20 Times a Lady” by Karyn Bosnak.
Anna Faris is back with some laughs and sexiness. It’s an adult relationship comedy with some “laughable” realities some of us have faced. Douchebags, bitches and those in-between.
OH, The men in her life! Joel McHale, Zachary Quinto and Chris Pratt play a few of the questionable male specimen douches in this flick. BUT Andy Samberg takes the cake! That “face”. Hilarious every time!
Leading man Chris Evans brings his swagger and comedic stylings once again. The man is a comedian, no doubt about it. He can sell funny, even in a serious role. He looks friendly, and maybe that’s the hook.
Pleasant, funny and light. Not bad for a film like many others. Predictable and yet entertaining. Moms and girls will like this, dunno about grandma…
It’s a dumb movie. This could have been a “fail” but the strong cast and clean flow helped this be an “ok” in my books. Anna Faris has always made me happy in my pants.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic tale of an old and bitter miser’s redemption on Christmas Eve.
Heir to the throne Brian Henson pays homage to the Charles Dickens classic.
Starring Mr. Michael Caine, as the greedy/money hungry old fart. Brilliant! And of course… the Muppets!!! The whole gang is back, in a way. Portraying characters from the classic tale. Giving it a comedic twist with lots of heart and wonders.
TRIVIA: This was the first major Muppet project after the death of creator Jim Henson. Henson had performed Kermit and the role was now being handed down to Steve Whitmire.
A classic to say the least. The Muppets have been a big part of my life and it was a pleasure to share this with my nephew over the holidays. It’s the season!
In Loving Memory of Jim Henson.

Jack and Jill (2011)
Family guy Jack Sadelstein prepares for the annual event he dreads: the Thanksgiving visit of his twin sister, the needy and passive-aggressive Jill, who then refuses to leave.
Adam Sandler, Adam Sandler, Adam Sandler… what the FUCK happened to you? From hero to zero.
Have we not learned the lesson of “Hey let’s put a comedian in a fat suit and let them act annoying!” yet???
I decided to watch this, despite all the warnings… “How bad can it be?” right? So I dove in with low expectations… i was not prepared for this CRAP. Sandler dressed up as a woman = OLD. Let’s throw in that annoying shrieking voice he always does… Damn.
Lord have mercy!!! Al Pacino as himself?!? And he fucking falls for fatty Mcannoying Jill?!? How FUCKING DARE YOU! Give me a fucking break - of that crack you guys are smoking.Immature, stupid, juvenile and tiresome…
Avoid this movie at all costs. FUCK THIS.

Salvation Boulevard (2011)
Set in the world of mega-churches in which a former Deadhead-turned-born again-Christian finds himself on the run from fundamentalist members of his mega-church who will do anything to protect their larger-than-life pastor.
A blessing of murder! Opening eyes of believers. We are merely human, and not far from sin - ain’t that right Mr. Pastor man? Hypocrite much?
Most of you would/should know i have a personal relationship with reality and science. Religious mockery is a gift i enjoy, god bless open-mindedness and poking at the “holy”. No one s better than the other.
Greg Kinnear is the goofy and troubled man, who’s faith is about to be rocked by… Pastor Dan! Pierce Brosnan!!! This role was HIS, the douchebaggery was superb and that face - you just wanna smash against an ugly wall. The always brilliant Ed Harris drops his 2 cents in and suffers the consequences of being “real”.
The ladies! Two of my crushes: “She’s secretly got the devil inside” Jennifer Connelly and cute “where’s my mind?” hippie Marisa Tomei. My eyes are always fixed whenever they appear on screen.
My favorite part would be the Legend (1985) bit! “The Devil!” AHAHAHAHAHA! sweet.
A dark comedy celebrating “There is only 1 truth, No one knows the truth.” - Being righteous is a doorway to hypocrisy. Justified arguments versus the facts of science and life.
Cheesy and sloppy in delivery (childish at some points)… the message was clear though. This isn’t a cockslap to the face of the church - it’s a simple eye opener that man (no matter who he is) is vulnerable to selfish desires. Not necessarily Evil.

Chillerama (2011)
It’s the closing night at the last drive-in theater in America and Cecil B. Kaufman has planned the ultimate marathon of lost film prints to unleash upon his faithful cinephile patrons. Four films so rare that they have never been exhibited publicly on American soil until this very night! With titles like Wadzilla, I Was A Teenage Werebear, The Diary of Anne Frankenstein, and Zom-B-Movie, Chillerama not only celebrates the golden age of drive-in B horror shlock but also spans over four decades of cinema with something for every bad taste.
4 tales 1 movie, B to the bone! Horror like it was meant to be… funny. Sloppy and yet amusing enough for die hard horror fans.
Wadzilla - Directed and starring Adam Rifkin. Monster sperm comes to town. A sick comedic twist on manly ammunition. I couldn’t stop laughing! It reminded me of Bad Biology (2008).
I Was a Teenage Werebear - Hmmm… this was a bit weird. “wereBEAR” you know where i’m gettin’ at right? Not traditional… Most B-horrors of yesteryear’s were not as liberal. We’re used to big guns, babes with boobs and blood. The musical aspect of it was somewhat tiring and annoying.
The Diary of Anne Frankenstien - A throwback to the black and white film era. Directed by Adam Green, of Frozen (2010) and the modern cult-ish slasher horror Hatchet (2006).
Zom-B-Movie - Wraps everything up in a blueish goo popcorn finale! The drive-in is plagued by the living dead and our heroes battle to survive, the comedy and horror. Just like the 80s!
Wadzilla & The Diary of Anne Frankenstein were the best ones!
Overall it was a pleasant experience, i wanted more. Everything seemed “rushed” i enjoyed 50% of the content. Some of it was just lame and unnecessary. A good attempt in giving props to the films of the past, but they could do better.
Funny? Some. Good? Some. Bad? Some.

Larry Crowne (2011)
After losing his job, a middle-aged man reinvents himself by going back to college.
Har har har! a comedy written, directed and starring Mr. Tom Hanks.
As if the “starpower” wasn’t enough he got Julia Roberts to co-star in this oldman coming of age film. Typical and predictable from start to end.
A few laughs and giggles care of: Cedric the Entertainer & Wilmer Valderrama. Without them, i would’ve rated this as a “fail”.
Having said that… let’s talk about the film shall we? Guy goes back to school, sees hot teacher - who has problems. Hanks joins a scooter club (WTF?!?). Shit works out and we have a happy ending.
My shortest review of 2011? possibly, cuz there ain’t much to say.
Life and love isn’t that simple or convenient…
Old hipsters!

The Change-Up (2011)
A comedy in which a married father accidentally switches bodies with his best friend, leading to a series of wildly complex difficulties.
Poop humor with sissies and douchebags!
One has babies, the other has babes.
A feel good “try wearing my shoes” comedy, for
the boysmen. Business minded Jason Bateman & self gratifying Ryan Reynolds are the pals who get in over their heads “wishing” for change. When they get their wish… balls are shaved!A somewhat typical scenario we’ve seen in many films - usually where an adult and child switch places/age.
The ladies… oh the ladies. Olivia Wilde gets hot and sexy, as the ravenous co-worker. And Leslie Mann “I’m starvin… let’s get some fuckin french toast!” is my dream wife. The ladies rocked it! BUT when i did some research…
LIES!!! ALL LIES!!! F.U. Hollywood!!! -> TRIVIA: Most of the female nudity is not real. Computer-generated breasts were used for Leslie Mann and Olivia Wilde.
An enjoyable comedy about responsibilities and reflection. We sometimes stray from the path we have chosen to try and see the “what ifs”. Let’s learn from each other.
Careful where you pee.

The Glamorous Life of Sachiko Hanai (2003) aka Hatsujô kateikyôshi: sensei no aijiru
Sachiko Hanai is a call girl. One day she is caught up in a gunfight and is shot in the forehead. Instead of killing her, the bullet in her head gives her psychic powers. She also accidentally comes into possession of a cylinder containing George W. Bush’s finger, whose fingerprint is designed to launch a nuclear missile, and international spies are soon chasing her.
READ THAT! Well hello Japan! A comedy fantasy, with lots of sex.
This is a Pink Film - a Japanese softcore pornography genre.
Bizarre and whimsically naked. Lead Emi Kuroda stretched her… acting skills. What could be called an “all out” performance.
This is ridiculous, so be in the right mindset when you do watch this. Prepare to have your senses rattled.
Japan gives America “the finger”! Ballsy. A bit on the rough and gritty style of film making, somethin’ for modern grindhouses.
If you followed my blog long enough, you know this is the type of stuff i cherish.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)
Po joins forces with a group of new kung-fu masters to take on an old enemy with a deadly new weapon.
Inner peace and justice! The panda is back with more punches and laughs.
This time around he finds his roots and battles a metal obsessed villain. The family drama in this flick was a bit on the heavy side, morbid even. Not as funny as the 1st but manages to deliver the noodles!
Featuring an all-star cast of voices: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Gary Oldman, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, James Hong, Danny McBride, AND Jean-Claude Van Damme!!! -> Need i fuckin’ say more?!?
Awesome family fun!

Cherry (2010)
An Ivy League freshman gets an unexpected education when he falls for an older woman and her 14 year-old daughter develops a crush on him.
Dysfunctional love triangle, without any age limit!
Written and directed by Jeffrey Fine. Well done sir, well done.
Breaking the parental shackles and following your dreams. A very nice coming of age story, with ups and downs.
Lucky guy Kyle Gallner is the man torn between two females. A performance worth noting. Mom Laura Allen seduced and partied hard. Definitely a MILF. And “oh not so young” Britt Robertson is the cherry on the cake. There was great chemistry between the entire cast.
Twisted wants versus the right thing to do and the risks we take with friendships.
A couple of giggles here and there… a film that makes you reflect and think. Love knows no age.
“Walk on water”
I thought this was a well rounded film… wasn’t exactly my type, but i appreciated the viewing. Something for mom and sis.

Jeff Dunham: Controlled Chaos (2011)
Ventriloquist and comic Jeff Dunham takes to the stage to provide fresh comedic material with his classic puppets Walter, Peanut, Jose Jalapeño and Achmed, as well as with two never-before-seen characters with their own unique quirks.
Jeff Dunham is as funny as ever. The start talks about his humble beginnings… Walter is an asshole, Peanut is racist, Jose is chillin’ and Achmed is a star! The additional surprise/character for Achmed was quite funny.
Don’t be an idiot. It’s obviously stand-up comedy with puppets.
“I Kill You”

Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011)
A father’s life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children.
Love… oh love…
Wholesome and funny! I expected this to be a typical romantic comedy, it its, and it turned out to be a funny one. This film tackled relationship issues all ages can relate to.
Comedy savant Steve Carell leads the pack as the sad bastard who has to pick up the pieces and is in desperate need of help. He was amazing as the counterpart of the ever so gorgeous Julianne Moore. Ryan Gosling rocked the suave bachelor role really well. Romantic comedy princess Emma Stone is blossoming by the day, another one for the books. “Poor guy” Kevin Bacon gets the short end of the ugly stick. WHAT??? Josh Groban? My oh my… Marisa Tomei as the crazy cute 8th grade english teacher. Lovely! in a psycho way. You never forget those…
A family friendly romantic flick with some snickers and goofs about camaraderie and parenting. Love is not easy. One of the best romantic comedies of 2011.
