  1. Moneyball (2011)

The story of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.

Strategy and nuvo-intellect rules the game! An inspirational story of a lowly team and their manager.

They can do no wrong! Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill are the odd couple in this sports drama. Pitt is undeniably a winner in his acting efforts, it’s hard to say “he sucks”. BUT Hill gets out of the teen scene to take on bigger things. Kudos to the casting director who put these two together.

Billy Beane meets Pete Brand a math & statistics genius who comes up with a formula for choosing players, versus the traditional way of scouting. The battle between strategy, loyalty and tradition come into play. Affecting the relationships, egos and personalities of our modern day heroes. Technology has come a long way… accept it.

Reality captured. The script and dialogue were superb! Adding some comedic moments to the drama and chaos. A feel good flick for sports fans! Out with the old, in with the new.

High caliber. Well rounded and delivered at a professional level of play. Fun for the whole family and rowdy baseball fans.

  2. Sonicsgate (2009)

Exposing the truth behind the Seattle SuperSonics’ tragic exodus after 41 years in the Emerald City.

The TRUTH exposed, for everyone to see!!! FUCK YOU Starbucks!

Great job by the sonicsgate.org group “Bring back our Sonics!!!”. A city loses a team another gains it… how? through FUCKED UP (dark/abusive/corrupt) BUSINESS.

The politics behind basketball is ridiculous, and just plain selfish. Basketball IS the fans, the people ARE basketball. This is a sad story of something loved leaving…

Kudos to Oklahoma City Thunder for doing well in the playoffs this year. We ain’t mad at you.

    Goddamn, i miss the Sonics…

And in closing: CONGRATULATIONS to the 2011 NBA champs!!! the DALLAS MAVERICKS and for proving that: Championships are earned, NOT bought.

  3. Battlefield Baseball (2003) aka Jigoku kôshien

Battlefield Baseball is a tough game—it doesn’t end until all the members on the opposing team are dead. In this game the Gedo High team is composed of blue-faced zombies, and their opponents on the Seido High team know they don’t have a chance at beating them unless they can bring back a star pitcher who has a lethal pitch called the Super Tornado, but who has hung up his cleats and has no desire to return to the game.

A batty and wacky home run!!! Another “Only in Japan” crazy-violent movie, with some laughs. Based on the manga/comic by Gatarô Man.

*If you’ve followed my blog long enough, you know this is the shit i love.

Thanks to riverboatgamblr for suggesting this!

Ridiculous action, exaggerated acting, costumes, fights and weapons. Just like an anime cartoon! The sound-effects were the cherries on top, of this over the top sports comedy.

Yûdai Yamaguchi director of Meatball Machine (2005), enters the word of… fuck if i know what world he’s in. His style amuses me. This one isn’t a splatter-fest, it’s just silly.

Starring Tak Sakaguchi, of the “zombie vs ninja vs yakuza” cult hit Versus (2000).

Jubeh, Why’d you give up the game? *enter dramatic music/red tint*

“No one could catch his pitches, The pitcher who threw too fast, Was hated and left alone by everyone”

He plays catch with his dad, and throws the ball right through him.

It starts off with the text: “This movie is dedicated to all those who love baseball.”
