Transit (2012)
A family on a road trip is stalked by criminals who stashed stolen money in their car.
Jim Caviezel… what happened to you?
So a family goes on a trip and criminals decide to hide their stash in the baggage… The chase begins. Pretty straight forward and simple, we’ve all seen this before. Nothing new… and what the fuck was with the baddies? Nothing about this seemed/looked believable. Sad.
Attempts at twists were pathetic. Some pretty shots here and there… I was not amused. Cool car though.
Me no gusta.

A Lonely Place to Die (2011)
A group of mountaineers in the Scottish Highlands discover a kidnapped girl and are pursued by her captors.
Off to the mountains! For some R&R and… death.
Directed by Julian Gilbey, who surprised me with his rowdy and violent Rise of the Footsoldier (2007).
Hell yeah! A survival thriller starring Melissa George - who came out in a bunch of horror films (I personally enjoyed): Triangle (2009), Turistas (2006), 30 Days of Night (2007) and The Amityville Horror (2005). Horror-suspense-thriller is her genre, she can sell it.
A British adventure horror looming in the realm of “it could happen” or “it’s fairly possible”. Adding fright to an already frightful separation from civilization. You’re on your own…
It’s a nail biting ride that slowly edges through the crime genre. Hikers discover a child in the forest “who’s she?” And in a blink of an eye - they fall one by one. There is little information given about the mountaineers and the criminals that surround them. The suspense bit and sudden shocks are what this film’s all about.Yeah, this ain’t an award winner. Some may even call it “stupid” - But if you’re looking for some thrills and death spills, this one’s for you.
What gave this film strength was the foley/sound effects used in death/violent scenes, you can hear ‘em bones break. I cringed a few times. Another thing that kept my interest was one of the criminals - The fat bearded one. He was very horror monster-ish.
The scenery and dialogue was… sorta typical, BUT this film got me. I can’t quite put my finger on where or how.
Watch it for what it is… a survival/chase thriller.

Creep (2004)
Trapped in a London subway station, a woman who’s being pursued by a potential attacker heads into the unknown labyrinth of tunnels beneath the city’s streets.
I finally got to see the debut of director Christopher Smith! Loved Triangle (2009) and Black Death (2010). Watching this little horror brought me back to the roots.
“Run Lola, Run!” Franka Potente did a superb job as the hapless victim.
A run and stab horror. Simple and yet delivered quite well. The killer had his quirks, the monstrous appearance was a nice touch. The gore was “ok”… The end may have been a bit outrageous and out of sync with majority of the film. There was never a dull moment.
Admittedly, this is all too convenient. It’ hard to believe the entire situation… it’s a horror with hardly any back story. Straight to the point.

Fast Five (2011)
Dominic and his crew find themselves on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord and a relentless federal agent.
The crew is back! with the same shit… Oh man, should i mention “I ain’t a fan”. How far can they take this franchise? The Fast and Furious 6: Six on the Beach??? Yeah, it’s good and well produced, but did i mention it’s the same shit? Fuel injected mindless testosterone.
The dynamic duo of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are back to fight the bad guys, again. Assisting them in making this an action packed United Colors of Benetton are Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, (awesome character from Tokyo Drift) Tego Calderon and (i just wet myself) Gal Gadot. Jordana Brewster makes a comeback as well, as the sexy sister and lover, but something about her seemed stale and boring. It’s probably the douchebaggery that surrounds her. AND Then… they add a WWE star… “do you smell what Hollywood is cookin’?” Dwayne Johnson, better known as The Rock, joins the frey. What disappointed me the most was that my favorite character, Vince aka Matt Schulze turns into turd. He was one of the few “cool” ones.
So yeah… they drive cars, bicker and fight with bad guys and amongst themselves (again). Until the final/big job, where the bad dude dies.
“They were driving hard yo!” - yeah, in front of a green/blue screen. They should take some lessons from Zoe Bell, that Aussie stunt woman from Death Proof (2007).
This is probably the longest review you’ll ever read about this film. It is what it is, and you have the nerve to talk shit about Sucker Punch (2011)??? Definitely Oscar worthy.
“Layeth the smacketh down, On deez Maddahfakah.”

Travellers (2011)
Four friends set out on a motorcycle adventure weekend, clocking up miles in an attempt to outrun their age and urban lifestyles. They spot an ominous looking caravan, and decide to investigate. Within minutes, an idiotic prank leads to a series of brutal events and a deadly race for survival. An action thriller that will make you question who the villains really are. You cant outrun what’s in your blood.
I had extremely low expectations for this UK indie thriller. Form the very start we get that “city boys take a trip and find trouble with the locals”. A story we are all aware of, and we sorta know the consequences that follow. The beauty of this film is in the cinematography, which happens to be the forte of novice/debut director Kris McManu.
Did I like it? Yes. Why? Oh man… patience pays off! You get a small psychological battle, (well shot) bare knuckle boxing and VIOLENCE! Well executed kills. It’s rare for a small budget to “wow” me. I was truly surprised, the tables/expectations were turned on me.
The acting could have used some work, for a B flick i think it was effective in delivering the story. A bit too easy, the whole “they didn’t see the trailer when they camped out?” huh? All this for the graffiti/spray paint “Piky Scum” (yes, they forgot the “E”).
*I saw elements from films, like Leo’s madness in The Beach (2000) and the pikey behavior/fight culture in Snatch. (2000).
The one thing this flick needed was… hot babes. This is probably a film for “dudes”, some ladies may enjoy it. Simple, a bit corny and predictable. Not bad, considering the budget came directly out of the pockets of the filmmakers.
This was “Ok”, worth watching once. Nothing mind-blowing.
