A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas (2011)
Six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree.
The dynamic pot duo is back!!! Kal Penn and John Cho bring the holiday cheers with the sexual madman Neil Patrick Harris. NPH!
A holiday treat for fans of Harold & Kumar! Perverted pot smoking and ridiculous plot twists are no surprises to us. I pity the fools who don’t know who they are!
Nice drops with the “White House” and “Sulu” jokes. These two have come a VERY long way since their first outing.
Fuckin’ Wafflebot. I’m torn between liking and hating it.
It’s a celebration of stupidity… and i like it! Didn’t quite like the (obvious) 3D bits. This was my least favorite H&K movie. Maybe it’s because i didn’t see it during Christmas.
You shot Santa!

Mr. Nice (2010)
The life story of Howard Marks, an elite British drug smuggler.
Finally, a feel good smuggler film! Never have British comedy and pot been so good. Not bad MR. Bernard Rose director of… WHAT?!? Candyman (1992)?!?
We get the typical story of a man who gets into the world of drugs and fast cash, only to see it dissolve before his very eyes.
Kinda like the film Blow (2001)… exchange Johnny Depp with the kooky (crazy) looking Rhys Ifans and some Afghan Hash and you’ve got yourself a dramatic comedy. The guy’s dumbfounded face amuses me. And he’s got that sly look as well. Excellent performance.
Chloë Sevigny was superb as the main babe. She sold me her role and was lookin’ better/prettier i think (less weird looking). Remus Lupin David Thewlis makes a drugged out contribution, stepping away from the popular Potter character. I’m sure they were stoned when they filmed. Probably. Maybe. they did.
“wipe that smile off your cock!”
The humor was all good and well. It broke some of the tense and upsetting drama. But have no fear, this is a bright drug film, of sorts. Tragic, but thankfully… you’ll see when you watch this.
A bizarre and amazing true story, wrapped with secrets and greed. Not an all-out-big-budget blockbuster… a good and steady drug film.
And like all drug films, this leaves viewers with with a lesson “Drugs are bad m’kay”
Roll up, light up, watch.

I’m the Angel of Death: Pusher III (2005)
In this third installment of the ‘Pusher’ trilogy, we follow Milo, the drug lord from the two first films. He is aging, he is planning his daughter’s 25th birthday and his shipment of heroin turns out to be 10.000 pills of ecstasy. When Milo tries to sell the pills anyway, all Hell breaks loose and his only chance is to ask for help from his ex-henchman and old friend Radovan.
After seeing the 3rd i thought: “Child (learns to be respectful), Teen (learns to be responsible), Adult (learns to be humble), 3 stages in life, 3 stories, 3 movies”.
The final chapter in the Pusher Trilogy is mature and mobster-ish in nature. This reminded me (seriousness) of the Millennium Trilogy (2009). What differentiates Pusher from the rest is that all 3 films can stand alone.
When the hammer falls…
Probably the heaviest among the three, a mafioso type of film. A father trying to be a “good dad” and maintaining his position in the (young and progressive) crime circles. A tough weighing scale to balance.
A slower “behind the business” sorta thing. Out with the old, in with the new. I think the 2nd was the best, this 3rd one is the weakest (least favorite) among the 3 solid films.
Nicolas Winding Refn is a force to be reckoned with! WATCH: Bronson (2008) & Valhalla Rising (2009).
I’m gonna revisit Fear X (2003) and grab a copy of Pusher (2010).

With Blood on My Hands: Pusher II (2004)
Tonny is released from prison - again. This time he has his mind set on changing his broken down life, but that is easier said than done.
Part 2 of the Pusher Trilogy by writer/director Nicolas Winding Refn.
Valhalla Rising (2009) badass “One Eye”- Mads Mikkelsen gets his ass royally handed to him a baseball bat in the 1st, and returns as the lead in this sequel. This time around, his character Tonny learns a little more about responsibility.
A fuck-up druggie gets out of prison and finds out he has a kid. The other half of the story is about him attempting to “fix” things between him and his employers/friends. “Prove his worth” - the guy just fucks things up. And yes, he does get revenge!
This felt/looked very much like Bronson (2008). I really liked this one more than the 1st. It was visually better, not as grimy as the original (lighting) and the story/character was much more interesting.
RESPECT.

Pusher (1996)
A drug pusher grows increasingly desperate after a botched deal leaves him with a large debt to a ruthless drug lord.
I’m doing a Pusher Trilogy Marathon!
A gritty and rough look into the world of drug dealing gone astray. From the director who dazzled me with: Fear X (2003), Valhalla Rising (2009) and Bronson (2008), Nicolas Winding Refn brilliantly executes this crime thriller. At times it was a bit too shaky, documentary style/filming. It felt raw and real.
Chaos in the life (a week) of a drug dealer, a familiar story with goons and guns. The cast sold me the film, absolutely amazing. This is the real deal, type of movie. And from one of the best movies of the decade, Valhalla Rising (2009), Mads Mikkelsen is in this as well. We’ll see him him again in With Blood on My Hands: Pusher 2 (2004).
*I broke out a huge smile when White Zombie was playin’ in the chase scene!
When the shit goes down, you better be ready.

London (2005)
London is a drug laden adventure that centers on a party in a New York loft where a young man is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend.
Given to me by David of Vice Tattoo, he said i might enjoy it. Hellz yeah i did!
Love & Drugs! what an awesome combination, for disaster. More of a high-end drug flick, rather than the usual slum, dingy and sketchy side. And what a gorgeous cast!
The new “the Bod” Jessica Biel shows some skin and gets her sex on. “He’s gonna be big” Chris Evans (who does a great job) is her drugged-up/pathetic “Ex” on a mission to win her back. I would definitely take drugs with Jason Statham! with HAIR!
As i said drugs and ladies: Big things come in small packages, Isla Fisher, Aussies it up and looks cute as ever. And “who is this chick?” Kelli Garner bursts in with her “you can hold a pint with those!” hooters. If that ain’t enough for ya, this movie has got legs too care of the slender Joy Bryant.
“Dude, on the poster (*sniffs) the word London’s written with cocaine! I’d take that as a positive sign.”
Not bad for the directorial/writing debut of Hunter Richards. He captured something here, ain’t a big thing… it’s something.
The relationship can be easily sympathized by audiences, even if you haven’t gone though “the shit” (major break-up). I loved the drug parts!
It’s a “pretty film”, where people can actually act.
Coke + Bathroom = church.

The Wrath of Cain (2010)
A former kingpin of the streets, Miles “Cain” Skinner is doing life in prison. He is feared and respected among the inmates. When Cain learns that his sentence will be shortened only by brain cancer, his urgency to change his ways goes into overdrive.
A low budget prison drama… typical… what a waste…
Ving Rhames is Cain… a dramatic window for Rhames? yes. Did it pass as a good performance… eh. “Have you seen this boy?” Robert Patrick plays the warden in this “is this a real prison?” movie. And the guy that plays his son (oh boy)… a Snoop Dogg Clone!
The end had a little hint that this was (possibly) based on actual events. Still wasn’t good enough to keep my interest.

Leaves of Grass (2009)
An Ivy League professor is lured back to his Oklahoma hometown, where his twin brother, a small-time pot grower, has concocted a scheme to take down a local drug lord.
A friend with weed is a friend indeed, especially if that friend is Edward Norton (2x)! An addictive drama about pot and the philosophy of life. This was a mellow film, a bit of humor vs loss.
This could be called a mature pot flick and not just some drunkenly wasted boobfest. The humor was very subtle and seeing both Norton’s on screen was amusing. Very much like what Sam Rockwell did in the (highly underrated) Sci-Fi flick Moon (2009).
The drama gets heavy and yet this films gave me a sense of good vibes at the end. Nothing wild or too crazy. This film is “steady”.
Stoners and serious movie viewers will enjoy this light joint. It’s simple, it’s got pot and… got… pot.

Twelve (2010)
A young drug dealer watches as his high-rolling life is dismantled in the wake of his cousin’s murder, which sees his best friend arrested for the crime.
A bunch of individual stories bumping into one another. It’s basically an upper class meets lower class teen drug flick. But presented in a posh and vibrant way, unlike most dark drug films. Not too much focus on the actual drug taking or experience… boo.
Imagine Gossip Girl (2007) but with Kiefer Sutherland narrating, drug dealings gone bad, characters actually die, got a hipster-ish OST and it’s got decent acting (by some). Wait a minute… that sounded just like Gossip Girl (dammit). But this is about drugs!
I have to admit there were some catchy characters/stereotypes that reminded me of some friends (couldn’t help myself).
A nice and clean production with a respectable close to the story. Good job Joel Schumacher, we still haven’t forgotten/forgiven bat-nipples in Batman Forever (1995).
Kids, don’t do drugs.

Bug (2006)
An unhinged war veteran holes up with a lonely woman in a spooky Oklahoma motel room. The line between reality and delusion is blurred as they discover a bug infestation.
Superb! this was an amazing mystery-conspiracy thriller. “What the hell is going on” is the basic thought when viewing this suggestive horror. A horrific fact that does happen in real life, more than you think.
Ashley Judd looked like hell! She really got into the role, frighteningly good. Michael Shannon does that weird creepy guy he portrays best. Christ these people need help. The whole cast was great! everyone played out their roles perfectly.
At mid-point the truth pops it’s ugly head. The story/theme/lesson is just like in films Requiem for a Dream (2000) and Spun (2002). People who fall prey to monstrous addictions.
Towards the end, a similarity in “symptoms” was seen, just like in the film A Scanner Darkly (2006) where bugs were crawling all over. And the explanation/diagnosis of such behavior/occurrence.
A great recommendation by thepriesttheycalledhim. Definitely a film to catch!

Bitten (2008)
A lovelorn paramedic rescues a woman left for dead after a deadly assault. When she refuses to go to the hospital, he takes her in, nurses her back to health and soon falls in love with her. Before long the mysterious woman suffers withdrawal symptoms, leaving the paramedic to believe his new found love is a drug addict. Coming home to find a blood-drained corpse on his floor, he learns she does indeed have an addiction problem but it’s not to drugs…
Jason Mewes is the lovestruck fool (again) who’s betrayed by his girl. Jordan Madley plays the girlfriend who cheats on Mewes with her yoga instructor. Low and behold destiny paves the way for him to meet the ultimate girl of his dreams, a blood thirsty vampire Erica Cox (my new F-ing crush).
A super low-budget film that delivers humor and entertainment. So “B”, the vampire eye contacts can be bought in any department store (my fiance has them as well). This is a fun and stupid vamp flick. Perfect for when you’re “watching a movie with a significant other”, when your real intention is to get it on.
Backed up by some silly music and ridiculous dialogue, this will entertain all ages. But then again there is nudity and the usual F-bombs Jason Mewes is well known for, so you may want to keep the kiddies away.
Jack: Holy shit, you ate my ex-girlfriend! I don’t know whether I call the police or buy you flowers.
(Dare i say, this is sorta like a Twilight guys will like.)
*The poster looks like crap though, It doesn’t do Erica Cox justice. This is a much better performance for Mewes as the leading man, compared to the last film i reviewed Shoot the Hero (2010). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1249294/
