Jason Statham, (Spike) Clive Owen and the living legend Robert De Niro - What the fuck more can i say??? AC-fuckin’-TION! The chase and fight scenes were superb, the story was enticing and the cast was pure GOLD. A handful of mercenaries go head to head. And we have the SAS agents and their hidden government agendas. A lot is going on here… and the kicker is it’s based on a true story - “actual” events during the 80s, conspiracy theories and secrets. I admit, this wasn’t the best i’ve seen… but it’s good enough. I was thrilled from start to end, though there was a tiny slump midway through. My brother pointed out Statham and Owen should have traded roles - i agree. Nevertheless this packed a punch! Meat, in a genre full of hollow ass-kicking. A story about men who do dirty work… Someone’s gotta fill those shoes.
